Arts Month - Barn Quilt Painting

paint paletteDo you love to paint? Looking for a fun night out? Join us at the Library Tuesday, February 20 at 6:00 PM as local artist, Angie Clark, guides individuals in creating a barn quilt painting. Participants will create a design of their own to take home. This event costs $30.00 per individual and has a limited number of openings available. Contact the Library at 419-375-2869 to reserve your spot today.

Arts Month - Paint Pouring

tube of paint and paintbrushThe Friends of the Library invite you to join us for a free arts event with Ralph Stuckman, local artist and college professor, Tuesday, February 13th at 6:00 PM at the Library. Mr. Stuckman will be giving a presentation on paint pours and participants will create a design of their own to take home. Class size is limited to 12 adults so please call the library at 419-375-2869 to register. 

Photography Presentation

Randy Shellenbarger, of the Grand Lake Photography Club will be giving a presentation at the Fort Recovery Public Library Tuesday, February 27, at 6:30 PM. Anyone that has an interest in photography, beginner to experienced, is invited to participate in this free program sponsored by the Friends of the Library. 

 

Book Tasting

Row of booksThe Fort Recovery Public Library will be hosting a "Book Tasting" on Tuesday, March 13th at 6:00 PM. This event will be a casual event where patrons can browse books by genre to find new authors and book series. A short presentation will be given to highlight resources that are available to patrons as they look for a new book or author. Light snacks will be provided. Battle Of The Books

The 4th Annual "Battle Of The Books" between students from Fort Recovery Schools and Coldwater Schools will be waged Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at the Fort Recovery Middle/Elementary School Auditeria at 6:30 PM. Twelve teams of students in grades 4 - 6 will compete against each other using a list of pre-selected book titles to see who has the most knowledge. Parents and community members are invited and encouraged to come and participate as audience members for this free event. 

Medicare 101

The Mercer County Council on Aging will be at the Library Tuesday, May 8, at 1:00 PM to present Medicare 101. This program is designed to help educate the public on health care insurance options for seniors. This free program is open to the public. Call 419-586-1644 for additional information or questions.

Used Book Sale

The Fort Recovery Library will host a Used Book Sale Monday, May 29 through Saturday, June 2. Books, audiobooks, and DVDs will be available for purchase. Items are buy one, get one free, for Members of the Friends of the Library. 

Back To School Supply Sale

School suppliesThe Friends of the Library will once again sponsor the Back To School Supply Sale. Fort Recovery students going into grades K - 5 are able to purchase school supplies through the library. This fundraiser allows the Friends of the Library to sponsor programs and purchase needed materials and equipment. Thanks to everyone for their past support of this important fundraiser. The deadline to turn in order forms is June 12th. For more information or to pick up an order form, stop by the Fort Recovery Library.

Shake, Rattle, & Roll

Did you know that there is Seismic (Earthquake) Activity happening all around us? Daniel with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will be joining us at the Library on Tuesday, June 12 at 1:30 pm to help us learn more. Children ages 8 and up are invited to participate in this free program.
