Author presentation with Harold L Schoen

The Fort Recovery Public Library will welcome author Harold (Hal) Schoen, Tuesday, September 6th at 6:30 PM.  A native of Fort Recovery, Hal’s memoir, "Growing Up",  covers his childhood years, where he was one of 13 children on a small family farm, to playing basketball for the University of Dayton. Books will be available for purchase and can be signed by the author the evening of the presentation.

Intro To Yoga

The public is invited to the Fort Recovery Library for “An Introduction to Yoga” on select Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am. This basic introduction includes simple seated (chair) poses and standing poses which do not require a mat. For more information, please contact the Library at 419-375-2869. 

Pumpkin Painting

The Friends of the Library is hosting a Pumpkin Painting for children, Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at the Library. There will be two sessions: Session 1: 6:00 - 6:45 PM; Session 2: 7:00 - 7:45 PM. The cost for this event is $1.00 per child. There is no charge for Friends of the Library members. Please call the Library to register at 419-375-2869.

Used Book Sale

The Friends of the Library will be holding a Used Book Sale at the Library Monday, October 17th - Saturday, October 22nd. Books for all ages, audiobooks, and movies will be available for purchase. The funds raised benefit the library to purchase materials and offer programs. Items are buy one, get one free for Friends of the Library Members.

UFO's: The Truth Is Out There

On October 18th at 6:00 PM the Fort Recovery Friends of the Library will be hosting Chris Parsons of Columbus, OH to present “UFO’s: the Truth is Out There.” Chris will be talking about UFO history focusing on declassified government documents and articles about UFO’s in the current news. This is a free event open to the Public. 

Scholastic Book Fair

Come and shop for Christmas at the Library! The Scholastic Book Fair will be open at the Library Sunday, November 13 (During the Christmas Open House) - Friday, November 19. Support the Friends of the Library through this fundraiser and get great gifts for Christmas for Friends and Family of all ages.

Food for Fines

The Library will be accepting non-perishable food items January 16 - January 28, 2017 in place of fines during the Annual “Food For Fines” event. $1.00 in fines will be waived for every item donated up to a maximum of $5.00. Fees from lost or damaged library materials are not eligible to be waived.

The public is invited to an evening at the Fort Recovery Public Library with Jackie Sheridan, a local resident, as she speaks about the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse. Jackie is a member of “A Better Life- Brianna’s Hope,” a participant-driven, faith-based recovery group for anyone battling substance abuse. Join us Tuesday, January 17th at 6:30 PM to be part of the discussion learn more about the support group. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
