Voter Registration

The public is invited to visit the Fort Recovery Public Library on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, anytime between 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM to meet with members of the Mercer County Board of Elections. Patrons can register to vote, update an address, and view one of the new voting machines to be used in Mercer County. No registration is required.

Pumpkin Painting

The Friends of the Library will be hosting a Pumpkin Painting evening at the Fort Recovery Public Library on Tuesday, October 8th. There will be three sessions for patrons to choose from, and the cost for the event is $1.00 per child. There is no charge for members of the Friends of the Library. Each session runs for 45 minutes and the beginning times are 4:30 PM, 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Please pre-register for this event by calling the Library at 419-375-2869. 

Used Book Sale

A used book sale will be held at the Library October 14 - October 19, during regular library hours. Books are buy one, get one free, for Members of the Friends of the Library. Saturday, October 19 will be a special sale day: $1.00 per bag of items. The library accepts donations of gently used books, DVDs, Blu-Rays and audiobooks. Items not accepted are VHS tapes, cassette tapes, textbooks, magazines, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and books in poor condition. Thank you for supporting your local library.

Scholastic Book Fair

Come and shop for Christmas at the Library! The Scholastic Book Fair will be open at the Library Monday, November 11th - Saturday, November 16th. Books can also be purchased during the Community Christmas Open House on Sunday, November 17th. Support the Friends of the Library through this fundraiser and get great gifts for Christmas.

Festival of Trees

The 15th Annual Fort Festival of Trees will be held at the Library December 9 - 31, 2019. The Friends of the Library sponsor this wonderful community tradition that highlights businesses, organizations and families in a fun, festive, Christmas display of trees and wreaths.  Visitors to the library vote for their favorite tree and the winner receives their name on a plaque at the Library for "The People's Choice" Award. This is a wonderful community tradition and enjoyed by all. Join us at the Library during our 2019 Fort Festival of Trees.

Prescription Drug Compare Assistance

The Mercer County Council on Aging (MCCOA) will be available at the Library by appointment Tuesday, November 12th from 1:00 PM - 6:30 PM to discuss Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan Comparisons. To schedule an appointment, call the MCCOA at 419-586-1644. You will need your current insurance cards and a listing of your medications for your scheduled meeting.

Magic of the Monarch Butterflies

Mandy Martin, a naturalist for the Darke County Parks, will be at the Library on Tuesday, October 29th at 6:00 PM to give a special presentation about Monarch Butterflies. Come listen to this free presentation and learn more about these magnificent, and delicate creatures.
